“Mind-For-Rest” – a unique silver necklace with an incredibly important meaning!
Background
Lena Stenvall had an idea for a piece of jewelry that she wanted to discuss with ALTI. Lena and our designer Åsa developed a jewelry design based on their thoughts about what carries us through difficult times. We need to maintain hope and gratitude – especially in challenging times. Maybe you have someone who has become your hope, maybe you have been able to keep hope yourself, or maybe animals and nature have been your refuge and hope during the recent years of social lockdown.
Here’s how our thoughts went:
The shape of the jewelry is a HEART, symbolizing warmth, love and care that we all need to feel good. We need someone to give and receive love and care from – friends, loved ones, animals, and not least from ourselves. The FOOTPRINTS depicted side by side emphasize the importance of being TOGETHER and how much we need relationships and friendship. They represent relationships with friends, family, or animals. Having a friend to share everyday joys and sorrows is essential for our sustainability. The PAW PRINTS on the pendant represent the significance of ANIMALS to us and our health – their ability to comfort through closeness and presence. They also help us with daily movement and outdoor activities. The FIR TREES on the jewelry symbolize NATURE. Where do we gather strength and recover? For many of us, the answer is as simple as it is obvious: in nature. Nature is free from screens, blue light, stress, noise, and other stimuli that strain the brain’s resources. Forest bathing – allowing ourselves to be enveloped by nature’s unique silence, scents, and soothing impressions – helps us regain strength and energy. Finally, we have the SKY, which is entirely open. It represents HOPE – that our future is uncertain and therefore full of possibilities.

Forest is spelled with one R, but our jewelry is spelled with two R’s to create our lovely meaning!
Mind – For – Rest = the mind gets to rest
Nature is mindfulness – that’s why the jewelry is called Mind-For-Rest!
Measurements of the jewelry:
Width: 23mm Length: 23mm The thickness of the edge and the fir trees is about 2mm, and about 1mm for the other parts, so the edge and the trees are raised from the background, and the sky is cut out, making the jewelry completely open in that area.
